Welcome to the
Gatehouse Inn
The Gatehouse Inn, a
charming restored Italiante Victorian, began life in
1884 as the summer residence for Benjamin J.
Langford, a California state senator.
Now it is one of the premier bed and breakfast inns
of the Monterey Peninsula. Off the beaten path and
with breathtaking views of the Monterey Bay, the
Gatehouse Inn is the perfect haven for your next
getaway.
A Place for Discovery
The Gatehouse Inn is ideally located for exploring
the Monterey Peninsula. You will be located just
three blocks from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Imagine
yourself strolling along the path overlooking the
beautiful Pacific coastline. Walk further along the
path past Cannery Row to the historical Fisherman's
Wharf in the heart of the Heritage Harbor area of
Monterey. Take a whale watching tour, go fishing,
kayak or shop. Bicycle along the coast and watch the
seals, sea lions and otters frolic. Or take a short
drive to Carmel with its fabulous shops and
galleries and wind your way back along the 17 Mile
Drive. Stroll through downtown Pacific Grove to see
the Monarch Butterflies flutter from flower to
flower.
A
Place to Res
Enjoy hors d'oervures while you mingle with other
guests or simply soak in the ocean view from the
outdoor patio. Afternoon tea is served daily from

Art Lovers' Heaven
In addition to being a retreat from the ordinary,
the Gatehouse Inn is also a world-class art gallery,
featuring the works of Thomas Kinkade, Painter of
Light, in every room. All works are available for
purchase, making the Gatehouse Inn a paradise for
collectors of fine art.
