Originally constructed in 1929 as an opulent apartment complex, the Carmel Wayfarer Inn retains the charm of its original design. Under the new ownership of Susan and Julian, the Inn's focal point remains our charming courtyard. Beautiful gardens and the warmth of the outside brick fireplace invite our guests to linger.

Choose an intimate, cozy room overlooking the rooftops of Carmel. Perhaps a room with a view of sea, sky, or garden is a better fit. Whatever your need the Carmel Wayfarer Inn offers accommodations for everyone. Our private garden courtyard, dining area and kitchen, make the Inn ideal for small group gatherings and wedding parties. Dennis (our Innkeeper and talented gardener), Teresa, Laura and Roberto staff our front desk and host a plentiful extended continental buffet breakfast. Each afternoon we serve select wines and cheeses, and keep our cookie jars full of home-made treats. We are very familiar with the area and will gladly help with concierge needs.

Three blocks from Ocean Avenue, the Inn's location enables guests to park their cars onsite (limited parking) and walk to all of Carmel's shops, galleries and restaurants and the famous Carmel white sand beach.
